jody1.jpgJody's interest in the arts began at an early age. She enjoyed experimenting with a variety of mediums until she reached college. She majored in art and narrowed her interests to mixed media sculpture and painting on fabric and canvas. She graduated from the University of California at Santa Cruz in 1979.

After graduation, she worked as a stylist for commercials and department stores, then went on to the garment industry as a clothing and fabric designer / merchandiser.

She chose to move to London in 1985 and was a costumer for television, stage and film. Through her stage work, she became interested in Decorative Arts. Her interest became a passion, then a career. Essentially self-taught, she also gleaned the best information from a selection of English master painters, attended seminars and practiced the craft of faux finishing, trompe l'oeil and mural painting diligently. She then received residential and commercial commissions in London for the next three years.

In 1988, she returned to the United States. Since that time, she has continually expanded and refined her artistic and painting repertoire-receiving commissions in large, high-end residences and commercial establishments throughout California, and also in Colorado, Florida, Arizona, New Mexico, Hawaii and Washington D.C..

A versatile, creative artist, Jody enjoys working on any paintable surface including: walls, ceilings, hardwood floors, fiber carpets (such as jute and sisal), and furniture.

She is an accomplished fine artist, muralist, landscape and architectural trompe l'oeil artist. She specializes in a wide variety of faux finishes: wall textures, stone and marble, and physical drywall textures. She also creates hand painted and stencil designs.

Jody loves to work with designers, architects, contractors or individual clients to create unique, exciting and appropriate concepts for their projects.
